Situated in the quaint Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts lives an amazing accessories store called Black Ink. We love home accessories, and when we came across this gem we could not pass it up! Black Ink was founded in 1994 in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston. Since then they have opened a second store, which is the one we spotted, in Cambridge and the Museum of Useful Things, which besides offering well designed utilitarian house wares and necessities, displays an array of vintage items. The stores carry everything from kitchen accessories and office trinkets to art books and bath supplies. Some of our favorites include the Baby Buddha Bowl, which nestles perfectly in your hand for eating on the go or when a table-less situation may arise, the Square Saké Cups paired with the Saké Handbook, Toothpick Bird, the Archie Grand Journals to store all those contacts we come across, and the Floating Ducks (you’re never too old to have a rubber duck in the bath).

Print Love

Good prints are sometimes hard to find, but we see no lack of love from The Condé Nast Store. The store offers art prints ranging from magazine covers, reaching back to the early 1900’s, to photographs of some of our favorite people, to limited edition prints from some of our favorite artists. We especially love the Vanity Fair Cover prints and are intrigued by the Bunny Mask print. Search and you will find—there is definitely something for everyone here! If you are not in the market for prints, you may still find what you are looking for, even if you don’t know it yet. PATCH NYC

West Elm always seems to deliver nice surprises when it comes to home accessories, but this might be the best as of yet! Introducing, PATCH NYC for West Elm. The renowned duo behind PATCH NYC, an amazing home accessories design team consisting of designers John Ross and Don Carney, has collaborated with West Elm to bring us some great pieces of art.

The collection includes pillows, wall art, and ceramic plates made with the most intricate techniques. The framed wall art is created using metallic letterpress, and the pillows are foil printed onto the soft linen. As of now, the collection comprises of a few beyond amazing pieces; in the future we are hoping there will be more!

The Future Home of Fashion

It has been confirmed! Another one of our favorite fashion designers is branching out into the world of home design and accessories. It may seem too far away to already begin dreaming about, but in January 2011 Diane Von Furstenberg is going to launch her own home collection. The collection will include tabletop and decorative accessories, as well as bedding and bath goods and is going to be available at international department stores and her website, DvF.com. We’ve tried to imagine what the pieces might look like by mixing a little bit of DvF fashion with her rug collection at The Rug Company—it just builds the anticipation. We cannot wait!

The company, launched in 1996, is based out of Northbrook, Illinois, and they carry products (most designed in-house) ranging from furniture, to bedding, to toys, and more. Also, their website breaks down items by personality, so you can fit your child’s personality with the pieces they might like the best. You may even find a piece or two for your own room as some of the pieces are sophisticated enough for any age and will make a great addition for many years to come!
