We love taking vintage or lost pieces and giving them a second chance at beauty, which is why we got excited when we stumbled upon REHAB. Founded by Peggy and Burke Bynes in the late 70’s as Sonrisa Furniture. Focusing on Latin American Folk Art, it slowly morphed into REHAB Vintage Interiors in 2008. This amazing LA based store “specializes in vintage steel desks and retro office furniture—promoting the industrial style for home and office” and brings old, found pieces back to life. They feature everything from steal desks, bookcases, and steno chairs to home accessories like metal baskets, clock radios, and candle holders, just to name a few. Each piece is cared for with love as they take one of their many pieces of furniture from their inventory and shine it up to give you something that looks brand-new but has the vintage industrial lines and cuts we all love.

Get lost on their site today, and order yourself a few made-over or reappropriated pieces today. You won’t be disappointed!

We love IKEA sofas—from the Ektop to the Klippan and their arm chair counter parts too! However, with most IKEA furniture, each piece arrives dressed in a basic stock colored slipcover, with only a few additional options to choose from. This is fine for the people who don’t like having choices or want their living room to look just like their neighbors, but the majority of us enjoy having options and want to make our space our own. Also, the idea of having a custom slipcover made that will end up costing as much as the couch itself seems pretty impractical.

Luckily, we have stumbled upon Bemz, a company based in Sweden, which sells slipcovers for all our favorite IKEA sofas and chairs! With tons of different fabric options to choose from, you will find something that will fit perfectly in your design scheme. Even if you just want to explore their library of inspiration images they have on file, we suggest you check them out today!

Updating your living room has never been easier!

I don’t know about everyone, but when we at CH are out in the sun we love to find an amazing chair to plop ourselves in to soak up as much vitamin D as we can. After being inspired by this perfect weekend we wanted to give you a list of a few of our favorite outdoor loungers that we know you will enjoy.

Britannia Lounger: We can’t get enough of the outdoor furniture from Tectona especially their Britannia. This easy to store lounger is a re-edition of the deck chair steamer used on the Transatlantic General Company ocean liners. This chair is truly vintage, but with the use of a red colored paint and exposed joints this piece can fit into any urban setting.

Indian Lattice Wooden Sun lounger: This great lawn chair found at Andrew Crace is classically made out of wood to be study, strong and last for years outside. The fabulous lattice detail, an adjustable backrest, and movable side tray for a drink, books, or essential accessories this lounger is a great addition to any back yard. Spray paint it with a high sheen lacquer in a bright color and you can give this piece a more modern flair.

Framura by De Padova: We can’t get enough of the Framura
outdoor furniture by De Padova. Found through Architonic this series of hybird furnishings can be used for both outdoor and indoor use. The wheels at the head of the chair make it easy to move the pieces around your pool or deck and the great fabric cushions make for a comfortable place to soak up the rays.

Cowhide rugs have always felt great on the feet, but thanks to Ikea, cowhide is now easy on the eye! The home furnishings conglomerate has (literally) taken the cowhide concept to new heights with the “Gilbert Chair Pad,” a 100% cowhide pad designed by Maria Vinka.

These mini cushions are a great way to liven up an everyday chair while adding some extra comfort, too. But what good would we be if we couldn’t offer up a few alternative uses for this cowhide creation? Call it whacky, but think it belongs on dining, coffee, and night tables alike! They will give surfaces a rustic appeal and an interesting texture, and they make cool centerpieces as well. At $20, they’re affordable, and with no artificial materials they’re entirely authentic. Don’t put these out to pasture, get yours today!

We know that sometimes there is no avoiding the purchase of that plain white chair (or any solid color for that matter); we have a solution! One word- Blik. Blik generally creates self-adhesive wall decals that transform your plain wall, into a graphic masterpiece.
But, these decals don’t just stick to walls, they stick to many different surfaces, and Blik has now taken advantages of this fact with the “Classic Chair Backs” designed by Wietske Hoogstadt for Studio Jan Habraken.

Each package comes with 6 decals (5 different designs) ranging from a vanity chair back to a Victorian inspired chair back. They also come in many colors. You can choose white, black, or two different 5-color combos. And guess what?- All this for only $30! We think this is a great, cheap fix for a plain set of chairs. If you loved “Classic Chair Backs”, check out these other decals inspired by the Rococo style of the 18th century, another inspired by the great Charles and Ray Eames, and more; We obsess over them!
