Bemz – IKEA Slipcover Heaven

Bemz – IKEA Slipcover Heaven

We love IKEA sofas—from the Ektop to the Klippan and their arm chair counter parts too!  However, with most IKEA furniture, each piece arrives dressed in a basic stock colored slipcover, with only a few additional options to choose from.  This is fine for the people who don’t like having choices or want their living room to look just like their neighbors, but the majority of us enjoy having options and want to make our space our own. Also, the idea of having a custom slipcover made that will end up costing as much as the couch itself seems pretty impractical.

Luckily, we have stumbled upon Bemz, a company based in Sweden, which sells slipcovers for all our favorite IKEA sofas and chairs!  With tons of different fabric options to choose from, you will find something that will fit perfectly in your design scheme. Even if you just want to explore their library of inspiration images they have on file, we suggest you check them out today!

Updating your living room has never been easier!

Bright Ideas

Bright colors are exciting and eye catching.  Whether it is in our wardrobes or our homes, we love to throw in a hint of color wherever we can.  In hopes for a bright and sunny weekend on this lovely Friday, here are some of our favorite vendors with color!  They have bright ideas for every home.

Gardenhouse – Bring the outdoors inside with any of the products from Gardenhouse, a Palm Beach based furniture store with a passion for color and re-appropriating old finds to make them bright and fabulous!  We love their Vintage Yellow Aluminum Loveseat!

CB2 – We love their Echo Chair in yellow or green.  Priced at $79.95 each, they are great for a spring update of a dining room or office.

Smeg Appliances – Bright and functional, these great 50’s inspired refrigerators, laundry machines, and dishwashers are just plain fabulous!

Berlin – Throw these pillows on a couch or a bed to brighten up any room.

Loungers for Every Sun Lover

I don’t know about everyone, but when we at CH are out in the sun we love to find an amazing chair to plop ourselves in to soak up as much vitamin D as we can. After being inspired by this perfect weekend we wanted to give you a list of a few of our favorite outdoor loungers that we know you will enjoy.

Britannia Lounger: We can’t get enough of the outdoor furniture from Tectona especially their Britannia. This easy to store lounger is a re-edition of the deck chair steamer used on the Transatlantic General Company ocean liners.  This chair is truly vintage, but with the use of a red colored paint and exposed joints this piece can fit into any urban setting.

Indian Lattice Wooden Sun lounger: This great lawn chair found at Andrew Crace is classically made out of wood to be study, strong and last for years outside. The fabulous lattice detail, an adjustable backrest, and movable side tray for a drink, books, or essential accessories this lounger is a great addition to any back yard. Spray paint it with a high sheen lacquer in a bright color and you can give this piece a more modern flair.

Framura by De Padova: We can’t get enough of the Framura
outdoor furniture by De Padova. Found through Architonic this series of hybird furnishings can be used for both outdoor and indoor use. The wheels at the head of the chair make it easy to move the pieces around your pool or deck and the great fabric cushions make for a comfortable place to soak up the rays.

Getting Ziggy For Those Zags

Getting Ziggy For Those Zags

Our latest obsession: Zigzags! Whether it is the traditional 2 colors version or a beautiful tonal experiment we can’t get enough of this pattern.

Lee Jofa: The love for zigzags might have started when we fell in love with the Kelly Wearstler fabric Flair from Lee Jofa. This tone on tone woven cotton fabric is absolutely stunning. We suggest taking an old chair or stool and reupholster it using this fabric, trust us you wont regret it!

SuTurno: The simple repetition of a zigzag line can be elegant and beautiful. We love these amazing pillows by the company SuTurno. Available in a variety of black, white a grey tones they are hard to resist. To see them in person check them out at the new store Haus Interior located on 250 Elizabeth Street in New York City.

Vertigo Rug: A softer version of the traditional zigzag pattern can be found at CB2 with their unbelievably affordable Vertigo Rug by textile and fashion designer Liora Manne. Perfect for adding pattern to a kitchen or sprucing up a neutral living room. Continue Reading
