Velocity Art and Design

Founded by John Tusher in 1999 Velocity Art and Design is a Seattle based company that has some great finds that we just can’t get enough of! VA&D believes that “ the positive influence of art and design extends beyond shelter and encapsulates an entire style of life.” They describe their style as “Organic Modernism”, but we see it as “earth friendly chic”. Each product and vendor they use believes in doing what is right for the earth and humanity from the beginning.

With a great selection of furniture and artwork that is innovative, exciting, earth friendly, and visually fabulous it was hard to choose just a few that we love, but here are some of our favorites. Check the rest of their inventory out today and be both green and chic!

Jasper + Black Notebooks: This Minneapolis-based importer and distributor of stationery has a great selection of notebooks in fabulous colors. Great to color code your own diaries or has a fun Valentines day present for a loved one or a friend.

Dwell Studio Bedding: We love their selections of Dwell Studio bedding. We can never get enough of Dwell.

Area Blocks Shower Curtains: These fabulous shower curtains by Area come in 3 great color ways  (sky, vanilla, and tangerine) that will fit in a wide range of bathroom color ways. And priced at only $25.00 you could not go wrong.

Repeat is Right

Repeat Studio was created by founders, Roisin Fagan and Arounna Khounnoraj, out of their shared interest and love of patterns and hand printed textiles and, we have to agree, it was the right decision for these two to create patterns!  We are head over heels over some of their patterns, including “Poppies”, “Pussy Willow”, and “Fresh Green Grass”.  Besides their brillant patterns, another great part about their fabrics is the fact that they are all printed on eco-friendly fabric with environmentally friendly solvent-free ink.  You can check them out at the Repeat Studio website or at their Etsy store!

The Wallpaper Collective

It is always exciting to find a great wallpaper source—especially one with a wide range of patterns and styles to choose from—which is why we love The Wallpaper Collective. This great source was founded by Cindy Weil when she decided to “break down the barrier” between the trade and the public, making high-end wallpaper more accessible to the masses. Carrying over 500 different designers from Jill Malek and Aimee Wilder with great eco-friendly options, this wallpaper source is one not to miss! Be sure to check out their website today, and order some samples for yourself!

Environmentally Friendly Tile

With everyone going “Green” and all the talk about being environmentally friendly, why not go for some recycled glass tiles. Stardust Glass is a company based out of Portland, Oregon that does just that. All of their glass tiles are made out of 87-97% recycled glass-content, and they are produced using eco-friendly processes. Not only do they use recycled products, but they also have an array of amazing colored tiles to top it off. With colors like Lava, Cream Soda, and River Rock, what could be better!

Abigail and Ryan – True Love in Design Heaven

Do you love nature, bright colors, and graphic patterns?  Are you looking to add some color to your kitchen with some new tea towels or looking to add a splash of pattern to your couch with some graphic pillows?  Well, we have the place for you!

Abigail Percy and Ryan Bell, two amazing designers (and partners in love as well), have come together to create the new home textile line called abigail*ryan.  Both have used their own strengths– Abigail with her nature inspired illustrations and Ryan with his great eye for color– and put together their first collection comprised of pillows and tea towels for our enjoyment.

Made from local sources, their collection uses organic material– even the pillows and towels are organic!  We are obsessed with their Helicopter and Sycamore print; starting at $20, you can’t go wrong with any of their pieces for yourself or as a gift!
