Dixon Does London
This past week was The London Design Festival and I was fortunate enough to attend many of the events around the city. Because we love Tom Dixon, it’s worth writing home about Tom Dixon at The Dock! In the relatively new store, Dixon premiered his full range of lighting, furniture and new collection of accessories. The space is beautiful and the products are unique. The Dock is a creative hub for design where on the spot manufacturing, international entrepreneurialism and commerce meet. Just wonderful!
Our top picks under $300
Flash Factory : What a great idea! Etch is a digitally manufactured collection that includes a light and candleholder in brass and stainless steel. At the factory, I was able to make my own Tom Dixon Etch Light to take home with me. The light is beautiful, affordable, and if your heart desires, you can assemble it yourself!
Light Tripod Stand : Who would have thought that for around $200, you can get such a unique and beautiful piece. Add this lamp to your living or dining room for a serious WOW factor.
The Offcut Stool : I have to admit this stool didn’t initially impress me until I read that The Offcut stool is created from scraps of oak normally discarded during the manufacturing process. The leftover remnants, which have uneven edges and inconsistencies, become the centerpiece of these stools. Pretty awesome way to not be wasteful!
Beat Light : Around $250, the Beat Lights are a series of wide, fat and tall pendant lights in hand-beaten brass with a matte black exterior. Make a dramatic statement with just one or with a cluster of these industrial but elegant pendant lights.
