Vintage Lights We Love

Another Man's Treasure Lamp
----- November 10th, 2009 -----

You can never have too many options of lighting! We’ve pulled together some great light fixtures we love for this season which have a great vintage appeal.  These pieces can never grow old because age is in their rustic quality. Each piece is very industrial, yet each seems to have some sort of feminine delicacy in their design. Imagine their warm yellow light during snowy winter nights or their decorative impact as focal lighting within a stale office space. We’re sure these pieces are treasures that will make your space all the richer.

Another Man’s Treasure Lamp by Robert Ogden at Anthropologie. No two are exactly the same, since this lamp is made from bits and pieces of old vintage machinery. What a brilliant way to reuse and repurpose!

Another one full of charm. Four Light Cage Chandelier available at Rewire at 1st Dibs. We love its more delicate and barnyard rustic appeal that still manages to keep its industrial aesthetic.

This cage Work Lamp from Design House Stockholm is a smoother, more modern take on the second fixture, with a gold or chrome-plated cage instead of the black iron and much more refined angles.

Another one from Design House Stockholm. This Block Lamp comes in Amber and Clear. Although, quite modern in style, we just love the warm lighting it gives that’s very reminiscent of the vintage lamps.

Apparently, it’s all about the caged lamps this time around with rusticism. Check out this whimsical Birdcage Hanging Lamp from Urban Outfitters. The detailing of the colourful tiny birds gives it a sweeter look.
