The Great Outdoors, Indoors

Wood Slice
----- September 10th, 2009 -----

Fall is that time of the year when wonders happen outside. Why not bring some of that inside. Here are some great pieces that we found to help bring the outdoors in.

We found a couple of “outdoors” inspired pieces at West Elm. First is the ‘Natural Tree-Stump Side Table’. This rustic piece of nature is great as a side table for the living room or a night stand for the bedroom. It is 100% natural and is cut directly from fallen cypress trees. Because of this, no two tables are the same; you are getting your own unique piece of the forest.

The second piece is the ‘Raw Wood Coffee Table’. This coffee table sports four wooden cube legs and a glass top. The wooden legs may not be directly from nature like some of the pieces, but the grain in the wooden cubes looks amazing and would definitely work well with some straight out of the wilderness pieces and accessories.

The last is a tabletop accessory that we could not resist, the ‘Wood Slice’. This accessory looks great bare or can showcase any object, whether it be a candle, another piece of nature, or even a coin collection.

We also found two great accessories elsewhere that charm-in on nature and the outdoors. One little fun accessory that we found at Urban Outfitters, the ‘Sea Tree Jewelry Stand’, can have many uses. It can be used as a simple decorative piece, it could be used as intended, as a jewelry tree, or use it in your entry to hold odds and ends like keys. The other piece is the ‘Eames House Bird’, which is always a classic.
