Kathy Moss at Argazzi Art
This weekend one of my favorite artists ever will be having an opening in Connecticut. Kathy Moss happens to live in my home town of Beacon, NY and she is represented by various galleries across the country including Stephen Haller in NYC and Robischon in Denver where her work is currently being shown along side that of art icons Judy Pfaff and Ross Bleckner. This Saturday Argazzi Art in Lakeville, Connecticut celebrates the opening of Nature: Themes and Variations, a group show with artists such as Emily Buchanan, Ann Coulter and Michael Kessler. You NEED to see Kathy Moss’ work in person to experience its magnetism.
Her work encompasses so much with what seems to be so little. In actuality there is a lot going on conceptually and when it comes to technique Kathy works her canvas with many layers. Upon close inspection, one could think they were looking at Venetian plaster. And every drip, scratch, stroke and scrape is there because the creator wanted it to be. There are no accidents here; her work is phenomenal for a reason. Please see for yourself. The show opens tomorrow, May 24 thand will go through July 1. The opening reception is tomorrow from 4pm-7pm. Argazzi Art is located at 22 Millerton Rd (Rte 44) Lakeville, CT; 860 435 8222.
