Electric Windows Update

----- May 5th, 2008 -----

We told you about Electric Windows, an amazing art event happening just an hour north of the city in Beacon, NY.  After much hard work and preparation (Burlock is one of the organizers and sponsors) we now have a full low-down on what will be happening. Just as a recap: 24 street artists will be painting 8ft by 12ft panels live for two days and then they will be installed into the now-boarded up window openings of a vacant factory. The new information we have is that the artists will be accompanied by live music all day on Saturday. There willl be live Hip Hop and Ska as well as a DJ.

Also, later that night beginning at 10pm, Next Step, the live art and dance party that’s been gaining ground in The Hudson Valley will be happening at the Piggy Bank restaurant.  DJ Bobby Collins from Denver will be mixing things up with a projection artist in tow. The artwork that unfolds that night is sure to be extra special as all these fantastic artists will be available to conribute.  Electric Windows will be Friday May 16th through 18th, with most of the festivities happening on Saturday the 17th and the installation of the artwork on the 18th.  Come join us at 1 East Main Street, Beacon, NY.  For a full line up of musicians,  and artists see the website.  We’ll back with another reminder next week.
