Private: Summer Sessions at Cooper-Hewitt
This summer, the Cooper-Hewitt museum gives us two good reasons to celebrate. Friday night kicks off the first of ten Summer Sessions, Friday night dance parties advertised with the simple description, “Design, DJ’s, Dancing.” The party is free with museum admission, so go early and check out “Design for the Other 90%”, an inspiring exhibit that addresses the challenges faced by impoverished and post-disaster communities.
The designers highlighted here propose affordable means of increasing access to the basic necessities – food, shelter, water – so we can all have a good time. Summer Sessions begins tonight at 6pm until 9pm and will continue every Friday until September 7th. FREE with admission at Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, 2 East 91st Street @ 5th Ave, 212.849.8400
